We took this kitchen area and transformed it from a "sea of golden oak" to a lovely soft contemporary. Some key factors in this remodel was removing the peninsula, which allowed us to incorporate an island for better flow and we also integrated a seating area into the island. We upgraded windows, stained the existing oak floor and addressed the lighting and furniture in the dining room, family room and living room on the main floor as well as replacing the staircase. This project is a bit unique in the sense that we opted to go darker in our wood selection, which can be difficult for some people, but it truly resulted in a rich outcome by using just the right amount of "bright" elements and infusions of color in the living areas. This home was displayed on the Twin Cities Remodeler's Showcase in 2015.
