This kitchen was somewhat a challenge because the homeowner had already upgraded their kitchen countertops to Cambria and they were installed on the existing golden oak cabinetry. We had to match the existing footprint so that we could re-use the tops, but create a "whole new look" to give the kitchen a new updated feel. We stained the existing golden oak to a warm cherry tone, changed the island to cherry and went taller, lighter and more functional with the perimeter cabinetry. Needless to say, we had to do all custom in order to make this happen. We also addressed light fixtures, paint and flooring in the adjacent rooms, changed all the woodwork to enameled, remodeled the powder room, updated the mudroom and replaced the stairwell. In all, it was a complete main floor transformation.
